In August 1941, the plant was awarded the Order of Lenin [8] .
After the liberation of Voronezh in the spring of 1943, a new “mailbox”, No. 64, appeared on the basis of the former factory No. 18. Soon the factory launched two attack aircraft of the new generation, the IL-8 and IL-10 . After testing both cars at the Air Force Institute in August 1944, they gave preference to the IL-10 . From the “two” he was distinguished by extremely “crimped” forms, large power equipment and half the frontal air resistance. Already in October 1944, a new Il appeared at the front and distinguished himself in the battle for Berlin. [9]

The first flight of the IL-86 took place on December 24, 1977 . Since December 1980, the IL-86 began regular passenger traffic inside the country, and since July 1981 - on international airlines. In just 8 years, the aircraft factory has left more than a hundred IL-86 .
