Content
History
Active construction in Tolyatti of industrial enterprises: a synthetic rubber plant , a nitrogen plant , a transformer plant, Volgocemmash , and others - required a source of electric and thermal energy. This source was the Togliatti Thermal Power Plant, the construction of which began in 1957 . The first turbine unit of the TPP was launched in December 1960 . In 1964, the construction of the first stage with a capacity of 200 MW was completed. The second, third and fourth stages were commissioned in 1968 , 1972 and 1975, respectively .
Activities
Tolyatti CHP provides power, heating and hot water to the Central District of Tolyatti, as well as enterprises of the industrial zone of this district of the city. In Togliatti there is also a Volga Automobile CHPP located in the Avtozavodsky district of the city, where, due to the rapid development of AvtoVAZ OJSC and the district itself, in 2004 the transfer of heat capacity from the Togliatti CHPP to Avtozavodsky District began.
At the Togliatti TPP, technologies have been developed and are successfully operated that ensure environmental protection .
