Biography
Medea Amiranashvili was born on October 10, 1930 in the village of Shorapani (now in Imereti , Georgia ) (according to other sources - in Tbilisi ) in the family of opera singer, People’s Artist of the USSR Peter Amiranashvili and singer Nadezhda Tsomaya [1] .
In 1953 she graduated from the Tbilisi Conservatory. V. Sarajishvili , where she studied with A.I. Inashvili and O.A. Bakhutashvili-Shulgina . In 1951 - 1954 - Soloist of the Opera Studio at the Conservatory.
Since 1954 - soloist of the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theater .
She performed in concerts and as a chamber singer.
She toured in Poland , Czechoslovakia , Romania , the GDR , Hungary , Bulgaria , Australia , New Zealand , France , Canada [1] .
Since 1972 she has been teaching at the Tbilisi Conservatory (since 1982 - professor).
From 1991 to 2006 - artistic director of the Kutaisi Opera Theater .
Deputy of the Supreme Council of the Georgian SSR of the 7th convocation.
