Esturu [1] [2] ( headlamp Eysturoy , date. Østerø - “eastern island” ) is the second largest and most populated island (after Streim ) by the Faroe Islands . A bridge was built between the islands of Streim and Estura. In 2006, a 6.2-kilometer tunnel was built that connected Estura with the island of Bora and other islands of the northern Faroe Islands.

On Estura is the highest point in the country - the peak Slattaratindur (882 m [3] ). The largest Faroe Fjord - Skalafjordur - crashes deep into the island.
