The author of many emblems and flags of cities, districts and settlements, personal emblems, as well as emblems of educational and medical institutions [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] .
Vadim Anatolyevich Shipunov is one of the few specialists in the country who today is professionally engaged in practical heraldry. Since 1998, he has been cooperating with the Heraldic Council under the President of the Russian Federation.
A member of the All-Russian Heraldic Society (VGO) since 1997, was awarded VGO awards: a memorable sign "10 years of the VGO", the Order of the Golden Bee, the medal "For Merits" of the popular science magazine "Gerboved". Since 2000, he has been the regional representative of the All-Russian Heraldic Society in the Chuvash Republic and is authorized to provide all interested persons and institutions with assistance in urban heraldry, as well as represent and protect the interests of the All-Russian Heraldic Society in his region.
Biography
Born on October 8, 1953 in the city of Perm . After graduating from the Cheboksary Art School and Army Service in 1973, from 1975 he worked in the Department of Culture of the Mariinsky Posad District Administration as a senior artist in the art and design workshop, until 1990 he was engaged in wall painting of interiors. Then he became interested in the development of symbols of Chuvashia and other regions of the Russian Federation.
In 2000 he took part in the competition for the development of the official mark and memorial sign of the President of the Chuvash Republic with the award of the third prize.
In 2001, the State Herald of Russia, G. V. Vilinbakhov, was recommended to the Government of the Chuvash Republic as a member of the heraldic commission under the President of the Chuvash Republic as a heraldic artist to develop the coat of arms of Chuvashia.
In 2004 he was awarded the honorary title "Honored Worker of Culture of the Chuvash Republic."
2005 - included in the heraldic commission of the Chuvash Republic [2] .
In 2016, he was elected Corresponding Member of the Petrovsky Academy of Sciences and Arts (St. Petersburg).
In order to preserve a special heraldic style and original national heraldic culture, which was formed in the Chuvash Republic, it was recommended by the Heraldic Commission of the Chuvash Republic as a developer of emblems and flags of municipalities.
Works
He developed more than 200 heraldic signs for the municipalities of Chuvashia, corporate and personal emblems. Among them are the coat of arms and flag of Alatyr, Novocheboksarsk, g.Kanash, Batyrevsky, Mariinsky Posad, Kanashsky, Alikovskogo, Tsivilsky, Krasnoarmeyskiy, Krasnochetaysky, Yalchikskogo, Poretsky, Urmarskogo, Komsomolsk, Shemurshinskogo, Yadrinsky, Vurnarsky District 98 urban and rural settlements listed in the State Heraldic Register of the Russian Federation, educational institutions and organizations.
More than 30 coats of arms developed by Shipunov underwent state expertise at the federal level and were highly appreciated by the heraldry community , including the main Heroldmeister of Russia GV Vilinbakhov - Chairman of the Heraldic Council under the President of the Russian Federation .
Among the works of Vadim Shipunov, which can be called the first of its kind in Chuvashia and Russia, given their official recognition and appearance in the State Heraldic Register of the Russian Federation , there are, for example, the following [1] :
- 1st rural coat of arms in Russia and Chuvashia ( Shorshely village, 2007) [1]
- 1st in the Chuvashia city coat of arms ( Mariinsky Posad , 1999) [1]
- 1st district coat of arms in Chuvashia ( Tsivilsky district , 2002) [1]
2009 - Coat of Arms of the Red Army Children's Art School. State Herald Master Georgy Vilinbakhov called “a real masterpiece of heraldic art” [7] .
2011 - The coat of arms of the Mariinsky Posad Central District Hospital was created, which became the country's first coat of arms of a medical institution. According to the Heraldic Council under the President of Russia, such emblems and flags “will become brilliant examples of the symbols of medical institutions in our country” [8] .
2013 - the presentation of the popularly popular book by V. A. Shipunov “Coats of arms and flags of modern Chuvashia” was held in the Chuvash State Art Museum ( Cheboksary ), where Honored Artist of Russia, People’s Artist of the Republic of Mari El Izmail Varsonofyevich Efimov congratulated residents of the republic on the release of the public such a valuable scientific popular work that “is a big step forward for the Chuvash culture” [10] [11] .
Workshop Museum
The museum-heraldic artist's workshop, located on Lomonosov Street in the Konovalovo microdistrict in the western part of Marinsky Posad, may soon become the first Heraldry Museum in the Volga region [12] [13] [14] . In his creative laboratory there are many guests and tourists (for example, in November 2012, the Choir of Veterans of the Yantikovsky District and the Novinsky Russian Folk Choir named after A. Muravyov performed), with whom the artist shares his plans to create new coats of arms [15] . December 6, 2012, the honored artist of the Russian Federation , People’s Artist of Chuvashia A. P. Rybkin [16] visited him. In the future museum there will be schoolchildren of the city and district, for example, on March 14, 2013, the heraldry museum was visited by students of the Mariinsky Posad Secondary Educational Establishment of Mariinsky Oblast [17] . In 2013, the creative workshop (Museum of Heraldry) hosted an exhibition of albums, posters, booklets, coats of arms and flags of the Mariinsky Theater in the Mariinsky Posad, dedicated to the 400th anniversary of the House of Romanov, which was attended in April by the leaders of the theater groups of Chuvashia headed by Cheboksary TYUZ director Vladimir Grigoriev [18] and a group of biology teachers who arrived on a visit to the teacher of the Mariinsky Posad Secondary School V. A. Krasilnikov, headed by the head of the department of natural scientific disciplines of the Chuvash Republican Institute of Education Ph.D. N.V. Borisova [19] .

- In 2005, together with an informatics teacher, Vladislav Alekseevich Krasilnikov, the first online gallery of coats of arms created by Vadim Shipunov in the Chuvash Republic was created.
- 2007 - a personal exhibition of heraldic graphics in the administration of the city of Cheboksary , timed to the Day of the City [2] .
- 2007 - took part in the art exhibition “Heraldic Artists of Russia” organized by the Heraldic Council under the President of the Russian Federation, the State Hermitage Museum and the St. Petersburg House of Scientists (the exhibition was held in the halls of the Palace of Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich of St. Petersburg House of Scientists) [2] .
- 2009 - personal exhibition of heraldic graphics in the museum and exhibition center of the Chuvash National Museum [2] [3] .

- In December 2011, an evening dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the family coat of arms of the brothers Nicholas and Vladimir Gorbunov, musicians and indigenous martial artists, was held in the workshop of heraldic artist Vadim Shipunov. Their family emblem is one of the first personal emblems of modern Russia [21] .
