This song was very popular in the early 1990s and was used in many pop music collections.
The name of the song refers to the London-based recording studio Orinoco Studios (now Miloco Studios ), in which it was recorded, and to the Orinoco River, although this sounds more like a planned pun.
The specific division of words into syllables to follow the melody of music may make the listener think that the lyrics are written in Latin (like some Enia’s songs), but the words are actually in English . At the end of the song, Enya pays tribute to Rob Dickins, Executive Director of Warner Brothers Music UK and more veiledly mentions producer Ross Coolum.
In 1998, on the tenth anniversary of the single's release, a remix version was released.
