History
At the height of World War II , the construction of a single-track railway from Sennaya station to the city of Syzran began in this area. This was necessary to force the shipment of goods and army formations to Stalingrad. The construction went from two directions and as a result, where they connected, the Renaissance station was formed. Subsequently, in addition to freight, passengers began to walk, and a station was built.
In the early 1950s there was construction of housing, communications, institutions. At the same time, a camp for prisoners convicted at the end of the war arose 3 km from the station. They were involved in the construction of barracks, office buildings. After the arrest of Beria, the camp was liquidated.
It was founded on the site of a colony settlement liquidated in 1953. The population of coastal villages flooded in the 1960s began to move here.
In 2003, the urban-type village Renaissance of the Khvalynsky district was transformed into a rural settlement [2] .

Infrastructure
Due to the rapid growth in electricity production (the launch of the Stalingrad and Kuibyshev hydroelectric power plants, the construction of the Saratov hydroelectric power station) and due to the availability of labor resources, railways and waterways, the Electrofider plant for the production of integrated switchgears was organized here. A reinforced concrete plant was later built (now bankrupt). In 1953, secondary school No. 5, was founded. In 2002, the building of the old kindergarten was adapted for the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (the church has a Sunday school and a library). There is a rehabilitation department of the Center for Social Services.
The village stretches for 7 kilometers from the railway station and is historically divided into “station”, “first town”, “worker”, “ITR” (at the place of residence of the first workers of the plant) and “second town”.
