History
It began broadcasting on December 27, 1991 at the frequency of the “Fourth Program of the DH”. From spring to July 1992, it broadcast all day — broadcasts began at 11:00, breaks began around noon, broadcasts resumed around 17:00 and ended before midnight [1] . On June 8, 1992, the morning, afternoon, and most of the evening airtime on weekdays was broadcast to the then-created television channel Russian Universities , specializing mainly in educational programs, Channel 4 Ostankino began to air only from 22:00 on weekdays and from 9:00 on weekends, continuing to show mainly repetitions of the programs of Channel 1 of Ostankino and entertainment programs, the vast majority of which were produced by New Studio. Also broadcast matches of the Russian football championship [2] and the national team for this sport [3] (both fully and in equal roles with the first button). On January 19, 1993, the 4th television channel was formally fully transferred to the All-Russian State Television and Radio Company (VGTRK), but on April 2, 1993 it was returned to the Ostankino Russian State Television and Radio Company .
From 19:26 Moscow time on October 3, 1993, in connection with the armed siege of the Ostankino television and radio company , the television channel was not broadcasted [4] , it was resumed the next day. Only a static picture was broadcast on the air (an improvised football match from the Lego constructor) with the text “ Broadcasting on the first and fourth channels was stopped by an armed crowd bursting into the building ”.
Channel 4 Ostankino stopped broadcasting on January 17, 1994; its broadcast time passed to the NTV television company. At the same time, part of the television programs of this channel continued to appear on the NTV broadcasting network until 1997 [5] .
Kira Proshutinskaya recalled:
... we were white crows, always standing on the side. Not because they wanted it, but in essence they were. Nevertheless, for some time we had a former training channel, which actually belonged to ATV . Then there worked Vanya Kononov, Dima Dibrov; "Time" appeared there. It was a channel, which was then taken away from us in favor of NTV . <...>. It was a terrible tragedy when a hundred people were left without work, without prospects. The channel was already untwisted, lured, "Vremenko" everyone watched. And this program, news about the little man, could go on for years and years [6] .
