Biography

Pupil of Ochamchira football. The first coach is Bundo Yasonovich Kakubava [3] .

Vitaliy spent his first season in the championship of Georgia in 1974, having scored 20 goals in the Amirani Ochamchira club. After that, a large group of young promising players gathered in Tbilisi at the initiative of the head of the Dynamo team Nodar Akhalkatsi. They were divided into four groups, a mini-tournament was organized between them, after which Daraselia, Koridze, Sheliya and Imnadze were enrolled in Dynamo Tbilisi.

The debut match in the USSR championship for Dynamo squad Daraseli held May 11, 1975 against the Tashkent “Pakhtakor". The game was held in Tbilisi at the Lokomotiv stadium and ended in a goalless draw [4] .

He spent most of his career playing for Dynamo Tbilisi . He scored a decisive goal in the final match of the 1980-1981 Cup Cup against Karl Zeiss three minutes before the end of regular time.

In May 2018, he was posthumously awarded the Georgian Order of Honor. [five]

Death

He died in a car accident . Shortly before this, Daracelia in Dynamo received a new car and apartment. On this day, Vitaly and his friend from Tbilisi went to rescue Vitaly's younger brother, Gennady, because the police arrested him. The accident occurred in one of the sections of the mountain "serpentine". The car crashed off a cliff into a mountain river. It is known that there were two cars. Who pushed whom, it remains unknown. The strong flow of the river carried the body of the football player two kilometers from the scene of the tragedy. The head of the Zestafon district Mamuka Aslanishvili threw hundreds of people in search of a football player, and only 13 days later the body of Daraselia was found [2] [7] .

Daraselia was buried as a national hero in his homeland, in the city of Ochamchira [8] .

Family

Wife Marina got married again after 2 years. Together with her stepfather, she raised 2 children: son - Vitaly Daraseliya-ml. (soccer player), and daughter.

Memory

  • In the city of Ochamchira, the local stadium bears the name of a football player.
  • In 2007 , in the year of the 25th anniversary of the death of Vitaly Daraselia, veterans played a match in his honor [9] .
