It started on August 29, 2004 [1] , becoming the first among the languages of the Finno-Ugric peoples of Russia . On February 24, 2011 contained 1602 articles (180th place).
On December 1, 2008, the 500th article was created, and already on December 15, the 1000th article [2] .
For some time it was the first largest in the Finno-Ugric list of Russian languages, but on February 15, 2011 lost the leadership of the Udmurt and on March 8, 2011 the Meadow Wikipedia . On November 8, 2012, Komi Wikipedia contained 3,500 articles (156th place).
Like most wiki projects in the languages of small nations, Komi Wikipedia has developed linguistic, local history and other national topics. The disadvantages of this project are the poor coverage of the basic articles, as well as the small number of participants [3] .
