Antzigerhochhaus ( German das Anzeigerhochhaus ) is a building constructed in 1927-1928 according to the design of Fritz Höger , one of the first high-rise buildings in Germany and one of the most famous symbols of Hanover . This building is one of the few in Hanover, which was practically not damaged during the Second World War . The German name comes from the words der Anzeiger - newsletter, newsletter, statements and das Hochhaus - high-rise building.
History
It was originally conceived as the building of the Madzac Publishing House, which produced the Hannoverische Allgemeine Zeitung and die Neue Presse . Architecture
The 50-meter-high steel structure with dark red and gold glass clinker facade refers to the architecture of expressionism . The Franzius Institute (designed by Franz Erich Kassbaum, 1926 ) at Ninburgerstrasse, the Hochhaus am Schwarzen Bären (designed by Friedrich Hartenstein, 1929 - 1930 ) and the new building of the city library on the Hildesheimerstrasse are also the first high-rise library building in Europe (designed by Kard Elkart, 1931 ).
