Farnaj was remembered for his commitment to the cult of the deity Zadani and the construction of a temple in his honor. His religious reforms provoked an uprising, during which Farnaj died, and the crown passed to his son-in-law Arshak I - the son of the king of Great Armenia. His son Mirvan , brought up at the Parthian court, regained his throne 60 years after the death of his father.
