The Danish Straits ( Baltic Straits ) is a system of straits between the Scandinavian and Jutland Peninsulas. It includes the Little Belt Straits (the smallest width of 0.5 km), the Great Belt (3.7 km), Oresund (10.5 km), Kattegat (60 km) and Skagerrak (110 km). The Danish straits are the main sea route connecting the ports of the Baltic Sea with the ports of the world ocean.
