Central Africa is a geographic region that extends in the western part of Africa in the equatorial and subequatorial strip, includes the vast flat depression of the Congo, in the west it adjoins the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Guinea, in the north includes the Azanda plateau, in the south - the Lund plateau and the Angola plateaus that continue it. In the east, the area is bounded by the West Reef branch of the East African Rift System .

Geography
The Congo Basin has a flat, swampy bottom at an altitude of 300-500 m. The highest mountains are the Adamaua Plateau in Cameroon (up to 3008 m) and the Cameroon volcanic massif (up to 4040 m). However, mainly for Central Africa is characterized by a calm relief, without much hesitation. Near-equatorial Africa, especially the Congo Basin, has the most dense network of full-flowing rivers in Africa, the largest of which is the Congo (Zaire) River. The Ogove , Kwanza and others rivers also flow into the Gulf of Guinea. Huge spaces are occupied by swamps. In the belt of the equatorial climate, thick multi-tiered moist tropical forests grow . In the subequatorial zone there are gallery forests ; savannas of various types are widespread on the watershed. At the mouths of the rivers flowing into the Gulf of Guinea , mangroves are widespread.

Many parrots , monkeys , leopards , warthogs , pelicans , snakes .
