Ben's childhood passed in the city of Fairfield , Connecticut , in a Jewish family. Ben's paternal grandmother emigrated from Russia in 1923 and settled in the Boston area ^[1] . From the age of eight he participated in productions in school performances, at the age of 10 he took part in a school production, which was presented in one of the four city theaters of Fairfield . At age 11, Ben starred in the musical "You Are a Good Man, Charlie Brown."
