Igor Evgenievich Rozhin ( 1908 - 2005 ) - Soviet and Russian architect, professor. People's architect of the USSR ( 1989 ). Laureate of the Lenin ( 1959 ) and Stalin Prize of the first degree ( 1946 ).

Biography

I.E. Rozhin was born on September 17 (30), 1908 in St. Petersburg . Graduate of the Leningrad Higher Art and Technical Institute (VKhUTEIN - LVHTI) 1930 (entered in 1925 ). Among the teachers: I. A. Fomin , V. A. Shchuko , V. G. Gelfreikh , S. S. Serafimov .

He participated in the development of the project of the Palace of Soviets in Moscow (1932-1933; co-authored with V. A. Schuko , V. G. Gelfreykh - leaders; A. P. Velikanov , L. M. Polyakov , G. V. Selyugin, E. N. Selyakova-Shukhaeva, A.F. Khryakov , G.V. Schuko , etc.).

He moved to Moscow in 1933 among the designers of the Palace of Soviets, headed by V. A. Schuko and V. G. Gelfreich.

In 1935-1964 and 1972-2005 he taught at the Moscow Architectural Institute .

Chief architect of Zelenograd (1956-1963)

Igor Evgenievich died on November 11, 2005 . He was buried in Moscow at the Vvedensky cemetery .
