Biography
Early years
Miyawi was born on September 14, 1981 in Osaka . His mother is Japanese, his father is half Korean [9] . After the divorce of his parents, when Miyavi was young, he moved with his mother to her relatives. According to Miyavi, he studied well and was seriously interested in football [9] , playing in the team of “ Cereso Osaka ” [10] . After a leg injury at age 15, Miyawi learned to play the guitar [11] , making covers with friends of Ray Charles songs with his friends, and decided to become a professional musician.
1999-2003: Dué le Quartz and the beginning of a solo career
Miyavi left for Tokyo at age 17, where he joined the Dué le Quartz band under the pseudonym Miyabi . He not only played the guitar, but also composed songs. When the band broke up in 2002, he began a solo career under the pseudonym Miya v i (although kanji still remained ( Jap. Ия miyabi , grace, style) . Miyavi signed a contract with an independent record label “ PS Company ” and released his debut on October 31 studio album “ Gagaku .” Until the end of the year, he released three more songs: “Shindemo Boogie-Woogie”, “Pop is dead” and “Jingle Bell”, of which only the last entered the top 40 Oricon chart [12] . Miyawi also starred with his former band Sakito in the movie Ryomano Tsumato Sono Ottoto Aijin [13] .
On April 23, he played his first recital in the Shibuya State Hall. Three singles were released at that time: "Jibun Kakumei", "Tariraritarara", and "Coo quack cluck -Ku. Ku. Ru- ”, which reached the fortieth, thirtieth and forty-second places in the Oricon ranking, respectively. December 2, released his second studio album, Galyuu; he reached the forty-fourth line.
2004-2006: Major status. MYV. Pop Era
In 2004, he starred in the role of himself in the film "Oresama" [14] . In February, he went on his first solo tour of Tokyo Dassou , and in July announced a tour to Korea and Taiwan. At the same time, he released his seventh single, “Ashita, Genki Ni Naare,” which took 22nd place on the chart and 1 place on the indie music chart [12] .
In October 2004, Miyavi signed a contract with Universal Music Group , but at the same time continues to work with PS Company. In December, Miyawi took part in Peace & Smile Carnival, organized by PS Company [16] .
After the release of the album, Miyavi was seriously carried away by the sound of an acoustic guitar [11] , and recorded the albums “ MYV Pops” (August 2), “ Miyaviuta-Dokusou-” (September 13), which took 15 and 25 places on the chart [12] .
Miyavi demonstrated his skills in using an acoustic guitar at a series of concerts dedicated to his 25th birthday - 25 Shuunen Kinen Koen Tokyo Geijutsu Gekijo 5 Days ~ Dokusou ~ [17] . 2007-2008: Neo Visualizm. SKIN World Tour
On February 17, Miyawi was invited by Mr. Freeze [18] to perform with a local DJ at his first solo concert in the USA at the MGM Grand Las Vegas hotel and entertainment complex [19] . On May 25th, at a JRock Revolution concert hosted by Yoshiki Hayashi , Miyavi was announced to join SKIN [20] . On June 29, they performed their debut concert at the Anime Expo in California [21] [22] .
In June, Miyawi released his solo song “Sakihokoru Hana no you ni-Neo Visualizm- / Kabuki Danshi” in Japan, which took 12th place on the chart [12] . He continued to give concerts around the country, in South Korea, Germany [23] [24] . At the end of the year, a new release, Subarashikikana, kono sekai - What A Wonderful World, was released . Right after him, in early 2008, the single " Hi no hikari sae todokanai kono basho de" was released , in which Sugizo played Miyawi on the guitar [25] .

2009—2011: Founding of J-Glam Inc.

2012–2014: acting career
On February 19, 2012, Miyawi performed at the second EMI Rocks concert in Saitama Super Arena [46] . On June 29, he performed at the EHZ Festival in Elet , France [47] .
