Biography
In 1909 he graduated from the Brest-Litovsk Commercial School. In the years 1909-1910 he worked as a theater designer. In 1913 he graduated from the director department of the St. Petersburg Theater School of the Literary and Art Society. He worked as an assistant director at the film factory Bakhareva. In 1913-1914 he studied at the Paris Academy of Arts. In 1915–26 he served in the army (during the First World War and the Civil War ), worked as a director of a number of theaters and as a leader of artistic circles.
In 1926–33 he worked at the Lenfilm film studio (at that time Lensovkino / Lensoyuzkino). He made his first films in tandem with the operator M. A. Halper . In 1933–1946 - director of the Lentekhfilm film studio, since 1946 at the Lennauchfilm studio. Directed by many popular science films.
The correspondence of O. M. Gallai with the poet D. M. Censor has been preserved . [one]
