Biography
Born in a large family in the village of Stolbovo (now the Bryansk region). According to legend, it received its name from the appearance of the pillar of fire. The peasants, mistaking it for a fire in the forest, rushed there and saw the icon of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker on the oak pillar, from which light went to heaven. For clarification, they turned to an old man who lived nearby on the lake. The elder replied: “In place of this great God's saint will be born, the pillar of Orthodoxy.”
The follower of the religious and monarchical teachings of St. John of Kronstadt . He worked as a carpenter and a carpenter, illegally engaged in priesthood. Arrested three times. In the 1930s he was sentenced to death, escaped from prison, then was arrested again, served time. In the 1940s he was sentenced to 25 years in camps. At the end of the term, he settled in the village of Lokot, whom he predicted was very famous in the future.
