Bushing, Anton Friedrich

Anton Friedrich Buesching ( September 27, 1724 , Stadthagen , Principality of Schaumburg-Lippe in Lower Saxony - May 28, 1793 , Berlin ) is a famous German theologian , geographer and teacher .

Biography

Father - Ernst Friedrich Bushing, lawyer, mother - Philippe Margaret (nee Jobst German. Jobst ).

In the spring of 1743, as an eighteen-year-old boy, he left his parental home and arrived in Galle to enroll in a Latin school at an orphanage.

In 1744 he entered the University of Gallic at the Department of Theology, where, under the guidance of the famous theologian, Professor Baumgarten, he wrote his first scientific work - lat. "Introductioin epistolam Pauli ad Philippenses." In 1748 he graduated from a university course and received the title of Master of Theology.
In 1748, he was invited by a home teacher to the family of Prince de Lunar, who was appointed Danish Ambassador to Russia. Here in St. Petersburg he entered into fellowship with representatives of Russian science and became known in the local Protestant community thanks to the sermons that he delivered in the evangelical churches of the capital.

In 1761, A. B. arrived at the invitation of the Protestant community in Russia and headed Petrishula on the recommendation of the council of Petrikirche . In 1762, A. B. formed her programs and teaching staff, inviting famous teachers Johann Beckmann and August Stark from Germany. On October 1, 1762, A. B. began systematic studies in the new school building on the Neva prospect in St. Petersburg . After 6 months, the school already numbered 300 students.

Anton Friedrich Bushing died on May 28, 1793 in Berlin .

Son - Johann Gustav (1783-1829), German archaeologist, researcher of German antiquities, folklorist.

Memory

In 1935, a crater on the moon was named in honor of Anton Friedrich Bushing.
