Fred Lawrence is an English professional snooker player and an English snooker player . In 1928 , at the second World Cup in a row (which was held in Birmingham ), Fred became a finalist. He beat Alec Mann , 12:11 and then Tom Newman , 12: 7, but in the decisive match he lost to his compatriot, Joe Davis , with a score of 13:16. Later, Lawrence several times reached the semi-finals at the World Cup (in 1929 and 1930), but he still failed to repeat his achievement [2] [3] . The last time Lawrence took part in the world championship in 1947 [4] .
