History
The Libertines
In the late 90s, together with Pete Doherty and Carl Barat (Carl Barat) founded the indie band The Libertines. In 2002, she released 2 singles and the album Up the Bracket . Doherty started taking hard drugs, which ultimately led to a quarrel with the team. During a tour in Japan, when Karl took over Doherty's duties because of his incapacity, Pete broke into his apartment and took out valuables. After 2 months, Doherty was released from prison. Karl personally met and forgave him, they began work on the album “The Libertines”, however, after another quarrel, Doherty left the group that ended the album without him. Interestingly, the cover of the album was a photograph taken on the evening of the reconciliation of Karl and Pete after his release from prison.
Two-field game
Pete Doherty decided to manage his creative destiny himself and assembled a new team, which he first called the same name Libertines, but then he nevertheless agreed to rename it to Babyshambles. At first, Doherty tried to work on two projects at the same time, but in April 2004, Pete Doherty's new project officially announced its existence, introducing the debut single "Baby Shambles", which was released in a limited way. Karl Barat said that Pete left The Libertines.
Babyshambles
After Pete completely devoted himself to the new group, the concerts of Babyshambles began to enjoy success not only among fans, but also among music critics. The second Babyshambles single “Killamangiro” in November 2004 climbed to eighth position in the charts, and the third, “Fuck Forever”, finished early in 2005 in the top five British hits. Such a hot response from music lovers did not receive any of the Libertines releases. In 2005, the debut album of the group “Down in Albion” appeared. In 2006, the EP of The Blinding was released. The song of the same name was also released as a single. In 2007, the next album of Shotter's Nation was released.
