Ulyana Vyacheslavovna Lopatkina (born October 23, 1973 , Kerch , Ukrainian SSR , USSR ) was a Russian ballet dancer, prima ballerina of the Mariinsky Theater in 1995–2017 .

Biography
Ulyana Vyacheslavovna Lopatkina was born on October 23, 1973 in Kerch on the Black Sea coast , in the family of teachers Vyacheslav Ivanovich and Elena Georgievna Lopatkin. She has a brother - Eugene. She was engaged in childhood in dance circles and sections of gymnastics.
In 1991 she graduated from the Academy of Russian Ballet. A. Ya. Vaganova (according to the class of Professor Natalia Dudinskaya ), after which she was accepted into the ballet troupe of the Mariinsky Theater . In 1995 she became the prima ballerina of the troupe. In 2000, during the ballet " La Bayadere " she suffered an ankle injury, but was able to finish the performance. Because of the injury for several years, she had to leave the stage. In February 2003, the dancer underwent surgery, after which she was able to recover and return to the stage [2] .
In October 2013, after Nikolai Tsiskaridze was appointed acting head of the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet , the Ministry of Culture recommended Uliana Lopatkin to the position of artistic director of the Academy. However, the contract with the Academy was not signed. [3] [4]
On June 16, 2017, Uliana Lopatkina officially announced the end of her dance career [5] .

Family
She was married to the artist, writer and entrepreneur Vladimir Kornev - they were married on July 5, 2001, and on July 25 of the same year they were married in the Sofia church of the village of Vartemyagi . A year later, on May 24, 2002, an Austrian clinic gave birth to a daughter, Maria [7] . In 2010, the couple divorced.
