Mangal (from Arabic مَنْقَل [manqal] [1] , Azeri manqal , Georgian груз აყალი , Persian منقل , Armenian арм անղալ , Turkish mangal ) - a roasting pan from the peoples of the Middle East , a copper bowl on the legs with wide horizontal fields , two carrying handles and a hemispherical lid.
Description
Inside the brazier put a copper or clay cup with hot (wood) coals . The lid has a flattened top, on which you can put dishes for heating food. When cooking, the lid is removed and the dishes are placed on the taganka . Sometimes the grill is covered with blankets, under which they bask. It is best to use cast-iron barbecues that are durable and keep heat for a long time.
There are also so-called table grills, the basis of which is a grill resembling a barbecue device, which is heated not due to coal, but due to gas . This allows you to use the barbecue to prepare several dishes at the same time, for example, to cook barbecue next to the side dish [2] [3] .
In the republics of the former USSR, barbecue is often called any device for obtaining coal and cooking fried meat ( barbecue ) [4] . Usually this is a metal box, industrial or home- made, with legs [5] . There are also camping folding barbecues, some of which are disposable, as they burn out due to strong heating, and their fastenings are jammed. The stamped collapsible designs are widespread, they are usually not durable due to the thickness of the metal, but they are light in weight, small in size and, as a rule, at a low price [6] [7] .

Electric brazier (electric skewer)
For cooking barbecue at home in the 1970s and 80s , electric barbecues were widespread. The heating for baking meat in them was carried out from an electric spiral ( heating elements ), and the skewers were automatically rotated using electric motors. Electric skewers are still not out of use.
