XV Moscow International Film Festival was held in 1987 . The opening of the movie screening took place on July 6. At that time, there was interest in the world in the processes of perestroika that began in the Soviet Union , which is why the 15th Moscow Film Festival was visited by such famous cinema figures as Federico Fellini , Juliet Mazina , Marcello Mastroianni , Giuseppe de Santis , Tonino Guerra , Nastasya Kinsky , Gerard Depardieu , Robert De Niro , Emir Kusturica , Vera Khitilova and Vanessa Redgrave (a total of 1600 participants from 110 countries attended the film screening) [1] .
