Biography
In 1967 he graduated from the History Department of BSU . The formation of a historical worldview was influenced by L. Abecedarsky , E. Zagorulsky , I. M. Ignatenko , K. Klyuchevsky, V. A. Krutalevich, I. Livshits, I. N. Lushchitsky, A. I. Podluzhny, A.P. Pianko, V.M. Sikorsky, G.M. Trukhnov, L.M.Schneerson.
In 1973 he defended his thesis "The Ideological Work of the Bolsheviks of Belarus during the Civil War (1919-1920)" (scientific adviser - I. M. Ignatenko). In 1990 he defended his doctoral dissertation “Social movement in Belarus: the main ideological trends and political parties (1917-1920).”
Since 1967 he worked at the Institute of Party History under the Central Committee of the CPB, a senior researcher, head of sectors of the history of the Great Patriotic War, the history of the party (1976-1990); Head of the Department of Political Parties of Socialist Orientation (1991-1992) of the Institute for Historical and Political Research; Leading researcher, at the same time head of the Department of History and Belarusian Studies of the Republican Institute of Higher Education, BSU (1992-1999); and. about. Director, Chief Researcher, Institute of History, Academy of Sciences of Belarus (1999-2005). Since 2005 - Professor at the Department of Economic History of the Belarusian State Economic University. Chairman of the expert council (1998-2003), member of the Presidium (since 2003) of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Belarus [1] .
Scientific and educational activities
He studied the history of the Belarusian national liberation movement, political parties and social movements in Belarus in the 19th – 20th centuries, the issues of the formation and development of Belarusian statehood in the 20th century, social and class relations in Soviet times, historiography and the methodology of historical science.
He prepared five doctors and nine candidates of science.
Rewards
He was awarded the Certificate of Honor of the Supreme Council of the BSSR (1988), medals "Veteran of Labor" (1990) and Francis Skorina (2009). Awarded a prize to them. Academician V.A. Kaptyug (2002).
