History
The Western Degunino area of 734 hectares with a population of 61.1 thousand people is located on the site of two ancient Russian villages of Degunino and Businovo . The first mention of the village of Degunin appeared in 1331 in a spiritual letter - the will of the Moscow Prince Ivan Kalita and is a "record of antiquity" of the Northern District of the capital. In 1960, the village of Degunino became part of the city of Moscow, ending its 600-year existence (this is only based on known sources). Since the beginning of the 1960s, Degunino has been a district of mass residential development. In recent years, architects conducting construction in the CAO have managed to achieve greater expressiveness in the appearance of highways and streets. A good example is monolithic residential buildings on the Korovinsky highway. In the 2000s, the district underwent modernization: panel five-story buildings were actively demolished, the average number of storeys increased from five to nine to twelve to seventeen floors. The 13th microdistrict (the section between Vesennyaya , Angarskaya , Taldomskaya Streets and Korovinsky Highways) of West Degunino is especially strongly built up now - it has the highest population density in the area and huge parking problems.

Transport
The district has long been one of the few in Moscow where there was no metro in relative accessibility. On March 22, 2018, the Upper Likhobory and Seligerskaya stations of the Lublin-Dmitrov line were opened [12] .
With the opening of the overpass through the Oktyabrskaya Railway, transport links with the Rechnoy Vokzal metro station improved.
The role of high-speed transport for a significant part of the region is played by the Oktyabrskaya Railway , with its help thousands of residents can quickly reach the city center or get to Khimki , Zelenograd , Solnechnogorsk , Klin . The Khovrino station and the Mosselmash platform are located in the district.
Also in the district there is an extensive and flexible network of land transport routes. Bus and trolleybus routes passing through the territory of the district and in the immediate vicinity of its borders connect [13] [14] West Degunino with:

Development Prospects
The designed Moscow – St. Petersburg highway crosses the Moscow Ring Road (Businovskaya Interchange) from the north [18] , after which it passes [19] in parallel or over Zelenogradskaya Street, forming the Northern Rockada. After the intersection with Taldomskaya Street, the existing section of the route will continue further to Dmitrovskoye Shosse in the area of Verkhnelikhoborskaya Street and the Petrovsko-Razumovskaya metro station. Thus, the route will be the understudy of the Korovinsky and Dmitrovsky highways, which should help solve transport problems [19] of the district. Simultaneously with the construction of the highway, the overpass Taldomskaya and Festivalnaya streets are connected.
