Geography
The district is located in the central part of the Krasnodar Territory and is bordered in the north by the Vyselkovsky and Tikhoretsk districts, in the east by the Caucasus and Gulkevichsky districts, in the south by the Kurganinsky districts, in the west by the Ust-Labinsky districts. The area of the district is 99,165 hectares.

History
- The district was formed on December 31, 1934 under the name Tiflissky as part of the Azov-Black Sea Territory as a result of the downsizing of the Kropotkinsky district . Initially, the district included 6 village councils: Armenian, Geimanovsky , Novobekeshevsky, Novovladimir , Tiflis , Toropyansky.
- In 1936, the village of Tiflis was renamed Tbilisi, and the district - in Tbilisi .
- On September 13, 1937, the district is part of the Krasnodar Territory .
- On May 4, 1941, 6 village councils were included in the district: Vannovsky , Leonovsky, Maryinsky , Novoivanovsky, Severinsky, Severokubansky, and the abolished Vannovsky district .
- From February 11, 1963 to December 30, 1966, the district was abolished, its territory was consistently part of the Caucasus and Ust-Labinsk districts.
- In 1993, the activities of village councils were discontinued, the territories of rural administrations were transformed into rural districts.
- In 2005, administrations of rural districts were liquidated in the district and 8 rural settlements were formed .

The population of the district as of 01/01/2006 was 48,120 people, all are rural residents. Among the total population, men make up 46.3%, women 53.7%. The female population of the fertile age is 12,651 people (48.9% of the total number of women). Agriculture
The basis of the economic potential of the Tbilisi region is the agro-industrial complex. Transportation
Tbilisi district has a developed network of public roads with a total length of 190 km. Through the territory of the region runs a highway of regional subordination " Temryuk - Krasnodar - Kropotkin ", 23 km long and the railway " Krasnodar — Kavkazskaya". From west to east, the electrified single-track Krasnodar-Kavkazskaya railway passes through the Tbilisi area with low traffic intensity.
