Biography
Rinaldo began his racing career in 1976, racing on the cards . He did not switch to single cars until 1983 , when the Fiat Abarth Formula started. The first major victory took place in 1990 , winning the Italian Supertourismo Championship at Volkswagen Golf . He won the championship again in 1996 , now on the Audi A4 . [one]
In 1997 , Capello held his first endurance race victory in Vallelunga at 6 o'clock Vallelunga, and again at the wheel of a Volkswagen Golf again. Capello was chosen by the Audi Sport Joest team, positioning the Audi R8 for the 24 hours of Le Mans 2000 . It was not known what this car is capable of, but the team finished the race in third place.
Capello was driving the winning car in a row on two Le Mans : in 2003 and 2004 , they were Bentley Speed 8 and Audi R8 , respectively. In addition, he finished the podium race on three other occasions.
Capello also won at 12 hours of Sebring in 2002.
Rinaldo was the vice champion of the American Le Mans Series in 2000, winning 6 races. In 2006 and 2007, Rinaldo Capello finished as a champion with Alan McNish in Audi Sport North America on the R10.
In Le Mans 2007, Capello had an accident on the Audi R10 TDI after losing the rear wheel. [2] Audi number 2 had a good race at the time, and the collision led to a change of leader and, accordingly, to the victory of another crew. However, he returned in 2008 to win again. [3]
