Chikalov, Romuald Aleksandrovich

In 1956 he graduated from the History Department of the Minsk State Pedagogical Institute. A. M. Gorky . After graduation, he worked as a senior inspector, deputy head of the personnel department of the Ministry of Education of the BSSR (1956-1964).

Assistant Minister of Education of the BSSR (1964-1968).

Assistant to the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the BSSR (1968-1971).

Candidate of Historical Sciences ( 1971 ). Associate Professor ( 1975 ).

Senior Lecturer (1971-1973), Associate Professor (1973-1978, 1993-2006) of the Department of General History of BSPU named after Maxim Tank (1978-1993).

In 1978-1993 - Head of the Department of General History of BSPU named after Maxim Tank.

From 2007 to 2010, he was a leading researcher at the Maxim Tank Belarusian State Pedagogical University.

Member of the Scientific and Methodological Council on the History of the Ministry of Education of the USSR (1978-1991), Council for the defense of dissertations at the Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after Maxim Tank.

Awarded the certificate of honor of the Supreme Council of the BSSR ( 1982 ). Excellent student of the BSSR. Excellent student of enlightenment of the USSR (1985).

Research interests: political and socio-economic history of foreign countries, socio-political reformism at the turn of the New and the Modern times, issues of the development of education in Belarus. He published four monographs (co-authored), a textbook and seven textbooks for universities.
