The Russian Figure Skating Championships 2009 is a figure skating competition among Russian figure skaters of the 2008/2009 season organized by the Figure Skating Federation of Russia .

In the 2009 championship, athletes competed in men's and women's single skating, pair figure skating and ice dancing in sport .
The championship was held from December 24 to December 28, 2008 on the ice of the Kazan Palace of Sports [1] .

Events
- The leaders of the national team in ice dancing Oksana Domnina and Maxim Shabalin (who train in the USA ) did not take part in the championship, who considered it inappropriate to be at risk of possible difficulties with acclimatization on the eve of the European Championship [3] .
- In the women's singles, 12-year-old Adelina Sotnikova and Elizaveta Tuktamysheva took the first and second places, who, due to the age limitations of the ISU , this season and the next will not be able to participate not only in European and World Championships , but also in junior international competitions [ 4] .
- At the end of the championship, a meeting of the coaching council of the Russian Federation of Figure Skating was held , which approved the composition of the Russian team for the 2009 European Championship , which will be held from January 19 to 25 in Helsinki [5] [6] :
