Zabrodin, Alexey Valerievich

• 1956 - graduated from the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Moscow State University .
• 1962 - defended his thesis.
• 1969 - headed the Department of Computational Gas Dynamics IPM them. M.V. Keldysh RAS .
• 1979 - defended his doctoral dissertation.
• 1994 - appointed deputy. Director of IPM them. M.V. Keldysh RAS on scientific work.
• May 26, 2000 - was elected a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Mechanics and Control Processes, specializing in “Mechanics”.
• 2004 - assumed the chair of the Department of Computational Mechanics of the Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty of Moscow State University.

With the direct participation of A.V. Zabrodin, comprehensive studies were conducted on the development of multiprocessor computing systems and parallel computing technologies . On their basis, high-performance super-computers MVS-100, MVS-1000, MVS-1000M were developed, created and put into operation. The combination of the features of computational algorithms and structural and technical solutions made it possible to obtain performance at the level of 1 trillion opera / sec. and solve a number of fundamental and applied problems, which previously was impossible to do.

September 18, 2008, at the recreation center "Sailor" near the village of Durso , during the All-Russian Scientific Conference. K.I. Babenko , whose co-chair of the Organizing Committee was A.V. Zabrodin, suffered a stroke . Alexei Valerievich was taken to Novorossiysk , where he died a few days later.

He was buried in Moscow at the Troekurovsky cemetery ^[1] .

• A.V. Zabrodin is a specialist in the field of fluid and gas mechanics, mathematical physics and their computational applications to solving applied problems of a wide profile, and the author of more than 125 scientific papers, including two monographs.
• A.V. Zabrodin obtained the following main scientific results:
  • Computational methods and algorithms have been developed that make it possible to obtain high accuracy for applied tasks at reasonable computational costs;
  • under his leadership, software packages have been created that are used in the development of aircraft, atomic engineering products, structures of special structures, impact studies, substantiation of unconventional ways to ensure the operability of objects under counteraction;
  • using the developed methods in conjunction with the Design Bureau named after P.O. Sukhoi carried out aerodynamic design support for the design of Su-27 family aircraft ; important studies were carried out to study the processes of propagation of strong waves through the system of channels, their transformation and the effect on protective barriers;
  • jointly with the Scientific Research Institute “QUANT” and “ IMM UrO RAS ” a project was developed and implemented to create a family of high-performance computers with mass parallelism of information processing ; they solved a number of important tasks that previously could not be solved.
