North Pole-15 (SP-15) is a Soviet research drift station . Opened March 29, 1966 . Drifted on pack ice (relatively thin and short-lived). She finished the drift on March 22, 1968 . Passed from up to for a total of 2,330 km. [one]

The first head of the expedition was V.V. Panov; on April 15, 1967, a new shift of employees arrived at the station, headed by L.V. Bulatov. [2] On December 4, 1967, the station passed 1.2 nautical miles from the North Pole point . The polar explorers took advantage of this and set the USSR flag there, and also left a bottle with a note. [2]
About 40 kilometers from the station, a special North Pole-15F naval station was set up. The station lasted from May 27 to October 28, 1966, its head was I.P. Romanov . The main tasks of the station were the navigation of Soviet atomic boats and the discovery of American submarines [3] [4] .
