Hypotaxis (from other Greek: ὑπο- “under” + τάξις “location”) is a way of constructing a complex sentence . In hypotaxis, the syntactic connection connecting simple sentences as part of a complex is expressed explicitly with the help of conjunctions , relative pronouns and other service words .
In Russian linguistics, hypotaxis is sometimes regarded as a synonym for submission . In foreign linguistics, hypotaxis, along with parataxis , is one of the types of organization of a complex sentence, both complex and complex.
