Basic Information
The first unit of the station under industrial load was delivered on December 22, 2009 . The installed capacity of one hydraulic unit is 324 MW in the generator (turbine) mode, 421 MW in the motor (pump) mode. The impeller diameter is 7.3 m. The design head is 147.5 m.
The structure of the waterworks facilities includes: [1]
- upper reservoir;
- water intake;
- supply conduits;
- PSP building;
- drainage conduits;
- water outlet;
- diversion channel;
- mating structures (foundations of the upper reservoir and lower reservoir);
- earthworks.
Station History
The Dniester complex hydroelectric complex, which includes the Dniester hydroelectric power station under construction and the already operating Dniester hydroelectric power station and the Dniester hydroelectric power station-2 (Buffer hydroelectric power station ) (this hydropower facility should not be confused with the Dniester hydroelectric power station ) . Dniester hydroelectric station-2 is located in the area with. Naslavcha of the Ocnita district and occupies over 17 hectares of Moldavian territory.
The design capacity of the Dniester PSPP in turbine mode is 2,268 MW (seven hydraulic units of 324 MW each, which will make it the 4th largest PSPP in the world), in the pump mode - 2,947 MW [3] .
The construction of the station began in 1983, in 1988 the project was approved, in 1993 the project was reapproved, and in 1998, an international examination of the Swiss engineering company Elektrowat Engineering Services Ltd. was commissioned by the World Bank, which confirmed the technical, technological, economic and financial feasibility of continuing the construction of the station [ 4] .
The commissioning of the 1st unit of the Dniester PSP was planned back in 1996 . Since June 1, 2007 the construction management of the Dniester PSP was transferred to the Dniester PSP . The readiness of the hydraulic structures of the Dniester PSP for July 2009 is estimated at 98%.
Since November 2009, the 1st hydraulic unit of the station has been experimentally operating in the pump-generator mode, it has been practically put into operation, and since December 22, 2009 the unit has been officially operating [5] .
On October 27, 2012, the upper reservoir of the Dniester PSP was put into operation [6] .
On December 20, 2013, the 2nd hydraulic unit was launched ahead of schedule [7] . Thus, the station became the most powerful in Europe (at that time) [8] .
On December 21, 2015, the 3rd hydraulic unit was put into operation [9] .
In December 2018, the installation of the 4th hydraulic unit [10] [11] was nearing completion at the power plant.
