History

The central telegraph begins on October 1, 1852 - the founding date of the first Moscow telegraph station in the building of the Petersburg-Moscow Railway station [3] [≡] .

In 1869, in connection with the arrangement of the Moscow city telegraph network (a network of city telegraph stations), the telegraph station was transferred to a specially adapted building on Myasnitskaya Street , near the Post Office [4] .

Since 1870, the telegraph station on Myasnitskaya Street became known as the Moscow Telegraph Station (in relation to the opening city telegraph stations, the number of which reached 33 by 1880) [4] .

In 1918, after the Soviet government moved to Moscow, the Moscow Central Telegraph Office became the Central Telegraph of the RSFSR, and then the Central Telegraph of the USSR [4] .

In 1929, the Central Telegraph was housed in the solemnly open House of Communications named after Podbelsky on Tverskaya Street (now the building of the Central Telegraph ) [5] .

In 1966, the Central Telegraph was awarded the Order of Lenin [5] . In 1970-1986, the Central Telegraph was led by Hero of Socialist Labor Vladimir Mikhailovich Kurguzov .

In June 1995, the state enterprise Central Telegraph was transformed into an open joint stock company Central Telegraph [4] .

The main shareholder of Central Telegraph is PJSC Rostelecom , which owns 60% of the authorized capital and 80% of voting shares.

In years, that is, for four years, Igor Zabolotny held the position of CEO of the company. In December 2012, the company's board of directors dismissed him [7] [8] . From December 2012 to the beginning of 2014 (a little over one year), the post of General Director of the company was occupied by Rodion Lyovochka, whom the Board of Directors dismissed on April 2, 2014.

Activities

Central Telegraph operates in the market of Moscow and the Moscow Region , providing legal entities and telecom operators with Internet access , IPTV , leasing of communication channels , organizing VPN , MVNO , document telecommunications , location collocation , etc. Provides comprehensive business solutions, such as : IP PBX virtual office station, video surveillance, turnkey office.

The company provides services based on its own 4.9 thousand km multi-service network in Moscow and the Moscow Region. The main transport network is based on SDH technology and MetroEthernet / IP / MPLS . The SDH network has a ring structure and has about 230 nodes with bandwidth from STM-1 to STM-64 . It has a combined numbering capacity in the codes АВС = 495, 499, 498-420 thousand numbers and in the code DEF = 958 - 10 thousand numbers.

Major clients of the company are: OJSC Aeroflot - Russian Airlines , OJSC Sberbank of Russia , State Historical Museum , State University - Higher School of Economics , FSUE Russian Post , SU-155, FSUE MGRS, as well as about 140 business centers . In total, there are more than 4 thousand legal entities that have become clients of the Central Telegraph.

Performance Indicators

In the first half of 2013, the company showed a 24.3% increase in net profit compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 81.8 million rubles in nominal terms (against 65.97 million in 2012). OIBDA for six months of 2013 increased by 4.2% compared to the previous year and reached 473 million rubles. OIBDA margin was 28% versus 24.6% in the first half of 2012.

To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Central Telegraph by Russian Post in 2002, an envelope with the original stamp was issued, authored by designer A. Batov. [^]
