Prokhasko, Taras Bogdanovich

Taras Bogdanovich Prokhasko was born on May 16, 1968 in Ivano-Frankivsk.
In 1992 he graduated from the Faculty of Biology of Ivan Franko Lviv State University (now - Ivan Franko Lviv National University ). By specialty - biologist. Member of the student movement of 1989-1991.
At first he worked at the Ivano-Frankivsk Institute of Carpathian Forestry. Then he was a teacher, bartender, watchman, leading on the radio "Vezha", worked in an art gallery, in a newspaper, in a television studio. Collaborated with the Lviv newspapers "Express" and "Postup".
Member of the Association of Ukrainian Writers. Now lives in Ivano-Frankivsk.

In Russian, the works of Taras Prokhasko (a novel from the book “Other Days of Anna”) were published in the anthology “Galician Stonehenge” (M., “ERA”, 2003). The very first book publication in Russian (the novel “Difficult” and the novel “Several stories could be made out of it” and “How I stopped being a writer” under one cover - AdMarginem, 2009) attracted the benevolent attention of critics (about a dozen reviews in half a year, see below) and was recognized by Book Review weekly as the best translated book of the year.

The younger brother is an essayist and translator Yuri Prokhasko (born 1970 ).
