The village of carriages


Vagonnikov village - a village within the city of Tver , located in the Volga (left-bank) part of Tver on the northern outskirts of the city; part of the Zavolzhsky district of Tver. Zip code is 170012.

The village is built up mainly with private houses, as well as cottages. Many workers of the Tver Carriage Works and pensioners who worked at the plant live in the village. There are no medical and educational institutions in the village, the only school was closed due to emergency conditions. There is a single bus route, as well as minibuses [1] . A railroad passes through the village - a branch from the main passage of the October Railway to Vasilievsky Mokh .

In October 1941 , a front line passed near the village of Vagonnikov; most of the city of Kalinin was captured by the Nazis, but the villages of Vagonnikov, Silikatny and Sominka were held by Soviet troops, which did not allow the Nazis to bypass Moscow from the north [2] [3] . From October 17 to November 21, 1941, the 131st Infantry Division was stationed in the villages of Vagonnikov and Sominka. [4] .
