Cameco is a Canadian mining company, one of the largest uranium producers in the world. At the McArthur River, Cameco mined about 14-13% of world uranium mining (as of 2008) [2] [3] , and another 3% at the Rabbit Lake mine (2009) [2] .

Creating a company
The company was formed by the merger of two companies, one of which was state-owned. Then, in 1991, an IPO was made.
The company name is derived from the first letters of the following words: Ca nadian M ining and E nergy Co rporation.
Deposits
At the moment, the company mines uranium at 4 mines (2 in Canada and 2 in the United States ). Cameco is also developing a mine using the in-situ leaching method in Kazakhstan (Inkai [2] ).
Canadian deposits:
- McArthur River - Underground mine. The proportion of uranium oxide in the ore is on average about 20%. Mining for 2009 - 7.4 thousand tons of uranium, resources - 128.9 thousand tons [2] .
- Rabbit Lake (Eagle Point) - Underground mine. The proportion of uranium oxide in the ore is slightly less than 1%. Production for 2009 - 1.4 thousand tons of uranium, resources - 8.2 thousand tons [2] .
