The fourth largest county of Sisak-Moslavin after Sisak , Petrigny and Kutina . The population is 7,028 people ( 2001 ) [1] .
Content
General information
Novska is located southeast of Zagreb (the distance to the capital is 85 kilometers). The city of Kutina is located 20 kilometers to the north-west, Pakrats is located 25 kilometers to the north-east, and Nova Gradiska is 40 to the east. 8 kilometers to the south lies the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina , which runs along the Sava River here.
Novska stands on the highway and railway line Zagreb - Slavonski Brod - Belgrade . Other roads go south, toward Bosnia and north, to Pakratz and Daruvar . The railway line Novska- Sisak branches off from the main highway here.
History
Novska was first mentioned in 1334 , but until the end of the 19th century it was a small village. After the construction of the railway, Novska became a transportation hub, which caused its growth and transformation into a city. In the XX century, several industrial enterprises were built in the city.
