On the territory of the County there are Dacian Fortresses in the Orastie Mountains , included in the UNESCO World Heritage List .

In 2011, the population of the County was 396,253 people, the population density was 56.10 people / km² [1] The urban population in 2010 was 132,567 people (46.08%), the rural population was 155,111 people (53.92%) ) The male population in the same year was 140 863 people, the female - 237 888 people [2] .
