Holstein Switzerland ( also Holstein Switzerland , German: Holsteinische Schweiz ) is a hilly landscape in northeastern Germany , in Schleswig-Holstein , a conservation area.
Holstein Switzerland, also called Holstein Lake Lowland ( German: Holsteinische Seeplatte ) is located on the Baltic Sea , in the areas of Plön and East Holstein, and is a plain dotted with many lakes. The terrain was formed during the last ice age . Holstein Switzerland, as a hill, is part of the Baltic hill .
The lakes of this region are located at an altitude of 22 to 28 m above sea level and have a depth of 20 to 60 m. In the north-west of the region, near the town of Prez, there are Postsee and Lanker See lakes, which are connected by channels to larger lakes in the center of Holstein Switzerland - Grocer-Ploner See, an area of 29.1 km², Kleiner- Ploner and Trammer See . From the east, lakes Vierer See , Beler See , Dikze , Kellersee and Grocer Ojtiner See adjoin Lake Grozer -Ploner See .
The highest point of Holstein Switzerland is the hill (164 m above sea level).
Forest and lake riches of the region make Holstein Switzerland a favorite place for vacationers and tourists. The centers of tourism in the region are the air resort of Malente and the regional centers - the cities of Plen and Oytin .
