Station Design

Artyomovskaya CHPP is a thermal steam turbine power plant with combined generation of electricity and heat. The installed capacity of the power plant is 400 MW , the heat capacity is 297 Gcal / h [1] . The station operates according to a thermal schedule with condensation loading in the summer. The annual number of hours of using the installed electric power is 5500-6000 hours. The thermal diagram of the station is made with cross-links along the main flows of steam and water. Coal and brown coal from deposits of the Primorsky Territory and coal from other regions: Urgalsky, Cheremkhovsky, Neryungrinsky, Khakass, Kuznetsk, and Urtuysky are used as fuel [2] . The main equipment of the station includes 4 turbines with a capacity of 100 MW:

  • turbine unit No. 5 as part of the KT-115-8.8-2 turbine with a TVF-100 generator, introduced in 2000;
  • turbine unit No. 6 as part of the KT-115-8.8-2 turbine with a TVF-100 generator, introduced in 2004;
  • turbine unit No. 7 as part of the K-100-90-6 turbine with a TVF-100 generator, introduced in 1966;
  • turbine unit No. 8 as part of the K-100-90-6 turbine with a TVF-100 generator, introduced in 1967.

Steam for turbines (pressure 100 kgf / cm², temperature 540 ° C) is produced by 8 BKZ-220-100f boilers with a capacity of 220 t / h each. The cooling system is reverse with cooling towers ; a water intake unit on the Artyomovka river is used for water supply to the station [2] . The electricity and power of the station are supplied to the power system through open switchgears (outdoor switchgear) of 220, 110 and 35 kV voltage via the following transmission lines: [3]

  • HVL 220 kV Artyomovskaya TPP - PS Airport;
  • 220 kV overhead line Artyomovskaya CHPP - Vladivostok CHPP-2;
  • VL 220 kV Artyomovskaya TPP - Substation Beregovaya-2;
  • Overhead line 110 kV Artyomovskaya TPP - Substation Ussuriysk-1;

History of construction and operation

By the end of the 1920s, in Vladivostok, Artem and other cities of Primorye, an acute shortage of electricity began to be felt, which impeded the development of industry. Vladivostok CHPP-1 and other small power plants could not cope with this task, and therefore in 1930 a decision was made to build a powerful thermal power station near the coal mines of Artyom. The design of the Artyomovskaya TPP was completed in 1931 and construction began, which was carried out with the widespread use of manual labor. At the same time, the construction of 3-c and 6-bis coal mines began on the former Artyomovsky mines. Two steam turbines with a capacity of 24 MW each were initially installed at the state district power station. The first turbogenerator of the Artyomovskaya GRES was put into operation on November 6, 1936. The first 110 kV overhead power line to Vladivostok was commissioned in 1938 in the Far East, to Ussuriysk in 1946 , and to Nakhodka in 1954 . Together with the Vladivostok power station VGES-1 (now TPP-1), the power plant became the backbone of the Dalenergo power system .

During World War II, half of the GRES personnel were women, there were teenagers, however, the power plant worked without interruption. Coal from cars had to be unloaded manually. The GRES team has been awarded the red banner of the State Defense Committee more than once. For trouble-free work on providing electricity in 1947, this Banner was transferred to the team forever.

By 1954, the capacity of the state district power station was increased to 100 MW. At that time it was the largest station in the Far East. In 1961-1969, 8 drum steam boilers BKZ-220-100f of the Barnaul boiler plant and 4 steam turbines K-100-90 LMZ were installed. In 1982-1985, two turbines (station numbers 5 and 6) underwent reconstruction with their transfer to the heating mode. The power plant changed its name to Artyomovskaya CHPP.

In 2000-2004, turbines were replaced at turbine units No. 5 and 6, without replacement of generators. In 2005, two medium-pressure boilers of Combination and Babcock and Wilcox were decommissioned. In 2008, the reconstruction of boiler unit No. 6 BKZ-220-100f was carried out with replacement of the heating surfaces of the boiler, draft blowers and ash collecting plants, due to which the available electric power of the station reached 400 MW. This boiler, installed in 1963, has stood for reconstruction due to lack of funding since 1999. At the same time, cooling tower sprinklers were modernized, and the capacity of the ash and slag dump was increased.

Until 2007, the Artyomovskaya CHPP was part of the Dalenergo power system (later OJSC); since January 1, 2007 it has been a structural unit of the Primorsky Generation branch of DGK JSC.

The plant’s structures and equipment are outdated and have reached a high degree of wear and tear, and therefore the gradual decommissioning of the Artyomovskaya TPP is planned. To replace its capacities, the construction of the Artyomovskaya CHPP-2 with a capacity of 420 MW is planned [2] .
