Story

Seventeen-year-old Bella Swan moves to her father (Charlie) in Forks, because her mother Rene lives with her new husband Phil, and they are forced to move all the time. In Forks, Bella meets a mysterious and very beautiful Cullen family. Rare features unite them: eyes of golden color and extraordinary pallor of skin. Edward Cullen reacts strangely to Bella (as it turns out later, he is a vampire and has never seen such a wonderful smell of blood as Bella has). However, he soon saves Bella from the minivan, and then from street hooligans, which makes him think about his real nature.

Edward and Bella fall in love. He introduces her to the family. Cullens call themselves vegetarians, because they drink only the blood of animals. They invite Bella to baseball, where she encounters three nomadic vampires. Bella's scent drives one of them - James - crazy. Edward defends his lover, but this only fosters James' appetite. He decides to kill her at all costs and begins the persecution of Bella.

Bella, thinking that she is saving her mother from James, comes to the ballet studio, where she previously took lessons. James bites Bella, but Edward sucks the poison and saves his lover, and his brothers and Alice kill the enemy. When Edward and Bella are dancing at the ball to mark the end of the school year, James's lover, Victoria, also at the ball, looks at them from the window.
