(Shăkhach - in the past - Tarhanovo volost of Buinsky district of Simbirsk province).

Unlike the neighboring villages, not only the Chuvashs lived here, but also the Mordovians ( Erzya ) and Russians . Previously, the village was called Sigachevo. It was founded long ago. In 1868, at the time of the formation of the Memorial Book of the Simbirsk Province, there were 26 courtyards there. It is not known exactly where the founders of Sigachi came from. In the past, in the vicinity of the village of Sigachi, there were two villages - Upper Tyunsyurevo and Nizhny Tyunsyurevo , which in 1955 were excluded from the list of settlements, as merged with Sigachi. Their founders were settlers from Syundyr - Sntĕr , renamed June 18, 1858 by decree of Emperor Alexander II to Marinsky Posad . Perhaps the founders of the village of Sigachevo (Sigachi) were from there.
