Chamzinsky district ( Erz. Chaunzabue , Moksh. Chamzinkan aimak ) is an administrative-territorial unit and municipality ( municipal district ) within the Republic of Mordovia of the Russian Federation .

Content
Geography
Chamzinsky district is geographically located in the center of the eastern part of the Republic of Mordovia. The territory of the district is 1,009.5 km². Chamzinsky district is the most elevated in Mordovia. Here is the highest point in the republic, it is located in the area of the village of Bolshoy Maresevo and is 324 m above sea level. A little lower - Bald Mountain, where the cement plant came from.
The Chamzinsky district borders on Atyashevsky in the northeast, Dubensky in the east, Bolshebereznikovsky in the south and a little Lambirsky , Romodanovsky in the west and Ichalkovsky in the northwest.
Chamzinsky district is located 50 kilometers from the capital of the Republic of Mordovia - the city of Saransk .
- Nature
Broad-leaved forests and meadow steppes prevail in the district. Forests occupy about 19% of the area of Chamzinsky district. Soils: gray forest (52%), chernozems (33%), floodplain (2%).
Specially protected natural territories : Chamzinsky hunting reserve , “Alekseevsky” springs near the village of Alekseevka, “Saint” - near the village of Alza, “German Pando Lisma” - near the village of Big Maresevo [3] .

Economics
The basis of the economy is large industrial enterprises. On the territory of the district there is a rich deposit of cement raw materials, which has become the basis for the largest cement producer in the European part of Russia - Mordovcement OJSC . The production of dairy and cheese products is carried out by Dream. Also, in the territory of the village of Chamzinka, one of the largest poultry farms of Mordovia, OJSC Chamzinskaya Poultry Factory, and the meat processing complex LLC Yubileynoye operate. Other large enterprises: Lato OJSC , Magma dry construction mixes factory, building construction kits combine, Avtozapchast joint-stock company, structural unit of the AvtoUaz Ulyanovsk association, Alekseevskaya TPP-3 .
In 2010, large and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises shipped goods of their own production, performed works and services in the amount of 8.42 billion rubles .

In the area of 218 km of paved roads.
Culture
Not far from the village of Apraksino there is a monument of archeology - a group of Apraksin barrows.
Education
On the territory of the district in the village of Sabur-Machkasy , one of the oldest educational institutions of Mordovia (now SPTU No. 2) operates, which was opened in 1882 with a capital of 16,950 rubles, bequeathed to the zemstvo by the landowner Krasnoputsky.
