Biography

Before becoming a football player, Parola tried himself, and not without success, on a bike path. But the love of football won and at age 15 he made the final choice. In the late 30s, he made his debut in Serie A, playing stopper, libero and even, sometimes, a defensive midfielder. With Juventus , Carola won the Italian Cup and two Scudetto , having played only 334 matches, and also put on a T-shirt of the national team 10 times. In 1954 he moved to Lazio, in which he played only 7 matches, and then left for Argentina for a year and a half. Parola also played for the European team on May 10, 1946 in Glasgow against the British team (Parola was the only Italian called out), even despite the crushing defeat of the team, Parola's game impressed the bosses of the British teams and he received several offers, but he refused.

Parola received the nickname Signor Rovesciata , that is, Signor Through himself , for performing a blow with scissors, which was then used extremely rarely, and Parola performed it impeccably, which is very famous. He received the nickname for the execution of this strike on January 15, 1950 in a match with Fiorentina from the journalist Corrado Banki, who made a famous photograph at the time of the execution of that strike.

After the career of a football player, Parola became a coach, he even received a prize for the best coach of Seminatore d'Oro for Serie C during his work at Novar. In 1975, Parola won Scudetto with Juventus, replacing Chestmir Vychpaleka as head coach. In 1976, Parola finally left big football, losing the coaching bridge to Giovanni Trapattoni. For several years he still worked at Juve as an observer.

Carlo Parola died at home in Turin, 78 years old after a long illness.
