Nearly one third of Rodomontov’s troops adhere to the coast of France, the rest are sunk in the abyss. Detachments of defenders were already lining up on the shore; Rodomont alone takes them to flight. Reinforcements are suitable for Christians: from one flank the Saracens are threatened by the Lombard king Desiderius, from the other the Bavarian duke Naim, one of whose units is commanded by Bradamantha . Rodomont single-handedly crushes the thousands of detachments of Naim, while Desiderius takes to flight the rest of the Rodomont army. Rodomont exterminates the Lombard army, and then the Hungarian army that came to the rescue, and grapples with Rinald . At night, when he heard that Rinald had allegedly left for the Ardennes, he rushed after him, and the remnants of his troops were loaded onto ships and sailed away.
On the way to the Ardennes, Rodomont grapples with Ferragus . A messenger rides past, sent to Karl from Montalban , besieged by King Marsilius. Upon learning that the Spanish king invaded France, Rodomont and Ferragus make peace and go to the aid of Marsilius. Malagis tries to block their path, letting a horde of demons at them, but the Saracen knights, jokingly, cope with the devils and capture Malagis and Vivian.
Rodomont and Ferragus arrive at Montalban. The army of Karl approaches there. General battle. Rodomont grapples with Roland . With a monstrous blow, Rodomont stuns Roland, but at that time the Bradamanta regiment leaves the ambush, spreading panic among the Saracens. Bradamanta enters the battle with Rodomont, but when Charles’s army retreats to Paris, he asks to postpone the battle. Rodomont refuses, and Ruggier , a witness to his unkind refusal, challenges him. Rodomont declares himself defeated.
Furious Roland

Rodomont rushes in search of them. He overtakes Mandricard and fights with him, but Doralis and the messenger of Agramanth separate them. Together they go to Paris. There they make Karl retreat with damage, but a quarrel erupts between Rodomont, Mandricard, Gradass and Scaripant. Doralis opts for Mandricard, and Rodomont leaves the Saracen camp, cursing the feminine.
On his way south, he meets Isabella with a hermit. Rodomont deals with the hermit and steps up with love for Isabella. Isabella promises Rodomont the potion of invulnerability and for an imaginary test substitutes cutting off her head. Rodomont erected the tomb of Isabella and decorated it with trophies of passing knights, only he could not cope with Roland.
