History
1946-1991
1946 - the first participation of the club in the championship of the USSR .
1992-2009
Since the early 2000s, Dynamo could not participate in the championship: there were no players, no coaches. The team was limited to rare friendlies of veterans [2] .
In 2004, the possibility of participation in the LFL of Russia by the national team of Abkhazia, which would fly under the flag of the Sukhumi Dynamo [3] , was discussed.
In 2008, the issue of club participation in the LFL of Russia in the South zone was considered [4] .

In 2010, the club was revived by the efforts of former Dynamo players who defended the honor of the team back in the All-Union Championship, and with tangible support from the republican authorities.

For the first time in eleven years, Dynamo took part in the championship of Abkhazia. The head coach was Oleg Dolmatov, a former coach of the team [6] [7] . The return to the big football turned out to be successful: the bronze medals of the championship were won and the Cup of Abkhazia was won, in the final in extra time the newly-made champion of the country FC Gagra was beaten [8] .

- In the Georgian football championship 2005/2006 , a team from Tbilisi called Dynamo-Sukhumi played, and the Dynamo Sukhumi match with the FC Tskhinvali team , also based in Tbilisi , was the opening match of the championship [9] [10] .
