History

The station was opened on October 13, 1962 as part of the Oktyabrskaya section - Novye Cheryomushki , after its commissioning in the Moscow Metro there were 65 stations.

Vestibules and Transplants

There are two ground-based vestibules, built of reinforced concrete structures and located to the north and south of the Third Ring Road , between Vavilova Street and Leninsky Avenue. Exit - to Vavilov Street, Gagarin Square and Leninsky Prospect. From October 30, 2016 to February 25, 2018, the northern lobby was under renovation: the old lobby was completely demolished, and a new one was built in its place, and escalators were also replaced (previously due to the integration of the metro and the ISC from July 15 to September 3 2016, the south lobby was closed without replacing the escalators).

In the center of the hall is the third exit from the station, which is a transition to the platform " Gagarin Square " of the Moscow Central Ring . The transition was built during the construction of the station, but the transition was earned only at the opening of the MCC in 2016. In the junction there is an underground vestibule with ticket offices and turnstiles, while there is no besstroenetnaya transfer between the metro and the MCC. Passengers of the metro and the MCC can change between lines with the implementation of ticket control, but without additional cancellation of the trip within 90 minutes from the moment of the first pass, if the passenger retained and during the transfer he applied the ticket he used earlier to enter.

Construction of the station, early 1960s

Leninsky Prospect is a shallow column station (depth - 16 meters). Designed by architects A.F. Strelkov , N.A. Alyoshina , Yu.V. Vdovina , V.G. Polikarpova, A.A. Marova. There are 80 columns at the station (column pitch is 4 meters).

The station "Leninsky Prospect" was built in an open pit with slopes, with the installation of a 20-ton gantry crane, with a continuous water lowering by submersible groundwater pumps. Bearing structures were made entirely of reinforced concrete. For the first time in the practice of Mosmetrostroi, concrete was laid in a structure using concrete pumps. They were served by a team of fitters Ustinov. Subsequently, this experience was used by drifter L. Romanov in Afghanistan in the construction of the lining of the Hindu Kush tunnel. Since the station "Leninsky Prospect" was designed under the paths of the Moscow ring railway , it was built in two steps. At first it was necessary to shift the rails and translate the movement of trains on them, and then return them to their former place. The chief of the site at this facility was G. I. Glikin, the chief engineer of SMU-5 was P. V. Sakharov [3] .

Design

The columns are decorated with white and yellowish marble ; the track walls were originally lined with light beige ceramic tiles , which often crumbled in places; the track walls were periodically “patched” into the night windows. In 2016, work was carried out to replace the facing of travel walls with marble, similar to the color of the tile. The floor is lined with gray and brown granite . The originality of the lighting solution and the type of overlap "Leninsky Prospect" differs from other column stations of the site.
